After a thrilling build-up so far, the watching fans yet again were entreated to some stunning two set of matches in the male semi-final’s category.

To the shock of home fans, favourite, Anuolwa Opeyori failed in his quest for glory after a prodigious display from opponent, Habbeb Bello of Oyo state ensured the fans’ delight was handed a surprising exit from the competition and consequently, denied a chance for the last finale dance.

In the contrast to Anuoluwa Opeyori’s fortune, fast rising Godwin Olofua from the Lagos Contingent elated fans with his sublime moves and determination as he saw off national player and 2012 National sport festival champion, Clement Korobakpo in two straight sets to clinch a place in the final.

In what looked like ‘De ja vu’ for Lagos’ Anuoluwa Opeyori against Oyo State’s Habeeb Bello, it was the latter who was the more hungry after losing the first set (17-21) to come back twice strong in a 2-1 comeback victory.

Godwin Olofua was having none of that lethargy and loss of concentration as the first match ended deservedly in his favour (21-14) against the towering favourite, Clement Korobakpo. And so did the second.
